Understanding the systems that sustain food supply
Noreste studies food and agriculture as interconnected resource, production and market systems. Our research examines how soil, water, farm inputs, crop choices and distribution shape agricultural viability, food availability and the resilience of supply across regions.
We connect conditions on the farm with the infrastructure and institutions beyond it, including storage, processing, trade, finance and the ability of households to access food.
